We stayed at John's Cozy Nest in Chongqing for 2 nights at end of July 2010. The main reasons for us for coming to Chongching were on one hand that we wanted to meet some friends, enjoy some nice and spicy hot-pot and of course to investigate the possibilities for cruising the Yangzi River. We chose John's Cozy Nest mainly based on the reviews provided on Tripadvisor, and we don't regret our decision to stay few days with John and his family. First of all, all the positive reviews on Tripadvisor are true. John is an amazing resource of information and advices, not only related to possibilities for cruising the Yangzi River from Chongqing to Yichang, but also related to trips to Xi'an or even Tibet. When John did not know the answers to some questions, he simply called one of his friends (that are seemingly all over China) and came back with some good answer. He also advised us very well on the most suitable type of Yangzi River cruise on the given dates. Due to his involvement in the cruising / sailing business he knows the tours, vessels and cruise itineraries very well. John can help you arranging everything from train tickets, river cruises, accommodation throughout China, etc. etc. We booked our 4 days Yangzi cruise with John, and it was a great decision. Also his other arrangements for us (train tickets, hotel in Yichang, hostel in Xian) were excellent value for money. The accommodation itself at John's Cozy Nest was pretty functional and provided everything a traveller needs. In fact John's Cozy Nest is located in the apartment of John and his family on the 23A floor of a high building directly alongside the Yangzi River, thus also the view from the balcony of the apartment over the river and the city is magnificent. According to John he is going to open the kitchen also to the guests in the future, which would make John's Cozy Nest probably the best place to stay in China. If you have difficulties to find the location of John's Cozy Nest, just give John a call on his mobile phone (+86 1 3983177596) and he will direct you (or your taxi driver) to the correct address. We would definitely stay at John's Cozy Nest again, as John made our independent travel through China much easier. Also there is a fitness centre and a swimming pool in the same building that can be used by the guests.

我和女朋友在中国住了三个月,之后开始了我们旅行的最后一站。到目前为止,约翰之家青年旅舍是我们住过最好的一家。从一开始,我们刚到重庆,约翰就去接机,而且是免费的,在接下来的12天酒店又无偿为我们安排行程,真是棒极了。他所做的不仅仅是为我们提供住宿,从干净舒适、可以俯瞰长江的房间,到帮我们预订火车汽车票,再到带领我们旅行。要是有更多的商人能像约翰这么老实,那我会把这家旅舍推荐给每个人!
